“I always feel better after meeting with Ilene. Life transitions for mothers are challenging and complicated. Ilene does a wonderful job validating the challenge, understanding unique circumstances and developing a realistic action plan. I always walk away from our meetings more positive, inspired, and focused.”
– Julie, San Francisco

“Ilene helped me to step back from the day-to-day and recognize what my real priorities are. I particularly liked her views around fulfillment instead of ‘balance’ – not trying to do everything, everyday, right now – but finding places in my life for the things that are most important to me – whether career, family, social life, home, or the spirit. I always felt energized after walking and talking to her.”
– Katie, San Mateo County

“Ilene’s energy and passion to help others improve the quality of their lives is inspiring. The participants from our What’s Next: Career Re-entry and Development program rated her as one of the best facilitators in the seven-week series.”
– Mercy Eyadiel, Director of Alumni Career Services
Graduate School of Business, Stanford University

“Ilene provides practical and action-oriented support for all aspects of life's changes and difficult decisions. She has helped me tremendously both professionally and personally. I am happy to say my life feels much more meaningful after taking the steps I didn't think I had the courage to make on my own!”
– Lily, Seattle

“Ilene is the first person I think of when a mother is looking for a smart, trusted, knowledgeable person to think through and create a plan of action around a life transition. There is nothing more important than taking time to reflect, plan, and create the life you want, and Ilene is an amazing advisor, speaker, and thought leader in this space.”
– Sally Thornton, Founder, Forshay.com

“Hiring Ilene as my Executive Coach has given me so much strength to navigate delicate situations in my new role as a senior leader. Her wisdom and perspective continue to help me grow both personally and professionally. I look forward to our weekly meetings to sort through various situations and dynamics that have arisen over the week, as well as strategize about how to continue to grow as a leader and develop meaningful connections within and outside of my team.”
– Lisa, Bellevue

“Ilene facilitated a tremendous session with our hotel’s executive team. She assisted us in enhancing our professional relationships with leadership techniques that focus on results. Ilene does not ‘teach’ you to an outcome; she creates an environment in which you lead yourselves to the desired result. We continue to grow our strategic team dynamic from a foundation that was built during our time with Ilene.”

While you likely know that your body needs exercise to stay healthy, did you know that your brain needs movement to operate at its peak capacity?
If you do one thing differently this year, make 2018 the year you add walking to your daily routine – your mind is depending on you!
Have you ever tried to change your “unchangeable” plane ticket and the agent says “Sure, let me see what we can do for you?” When she returns, not only does she change your ticket, but she offers an upgrade? How about when you go to pay the handyman for repairs done on your home, he tells you “don’t worry about it, it was such a small project, I can’t charge you”? Or, you know that restaurant that has an hour wait? All of the sudden the host says I can get you in now and he sends over appetizers on the house - just because.
Want to boost your creativity, improve your problem-solving ability, connect more effectively with colleagues and feel more energized each day?
Most likely you have heard increasing noise about the extreme health risks of too much sitting, but did you know that getting up and moving can offer big benefits to your mental health, work performance, productivity and relationship with colleagues.
Have you ever thought "If I was younger, I'd do..." or "If I didn't take the path I took, I would have done..."?
Good news, YOU STILL HAVE TIME!
If you are reading this post, you are still breathing, living AND still have time...most likely, a LOT of time to do the things you thought you are too old to be doing or to be the person who you really want to be.
House Cleaner. Gardener. Dog walker. Meal delivery. Organizer.
So many services and still so little time (and so much stress).
Over the years, have you found yourself adding on to your professional staff of life "helpers"? I'm talking about all those people and services that we hire to presumably make life run a bit smoother, cleaner, sweeter, while we focus on the rest of life?
At face value, creating meaningful connections can seem like no sweat. In fact, as social beings, shouldn't it be second nature? In theory, yes...however the reality is not always aligned with the theory. Building your "circle" when you are in a new situation can feel daunting. Download "Connecting 101" for some tips on how to create and nurture your community.
More and more I am hearing about students getting into the college of their dreams (or the one just short of their dreams) and, after not feeling like it's the right fit, they transfer at the semester or year-end.
Each time I play tennis or take a lesson, I find myself getting more life pointers than actual points on the court.
When you are flooded with things to do (or decisions to make), stress levels are high and you feel like you barely have time to breathe, what is your natural response?
