The Bucket List Has A Fatal Flaw

As I was preparing for a talk this week, I had an aha moment when I realized that the concept of a “Bucket List” is fatally flawed. When predicting the success of a goal, a key ingredient is to assign a deadline for completion. Just curious, do you know the date of your last breath?

Probably not.

With this in mind, items in the “bucket” have no end date assigned and consequently may stay in the bucket long after you are gone.

Not a great plan.

Which items do you want to move from that “someday, wow that would be cool” dream list onto “enough already, I want to live now” list?

Why wait? Get the balls in motion, and make sure you actually do have the time on earth to realize these dreams.

Would love to hear what’s on your list AND when you plan to take action. Have fun!
